Tipping your guide in South Africa:

It is customary to tip your guide if you have had a good time! This of course will only apply if you were 100% happy with the service rendered to you. In the case of Break-Away the people that will do their utmost to make your travels a time to remember are Piet, Danell, Deon, Liaan and Jo-Marie (the latter three are students in training) and others.

I (Martie) exclude myself from this, as I am the one that will manage your complete program. I am the one that you will call if you have a problem, if you are sad or in need of moral or emotional support. This support is available to you 24 hrs a day. For me your happiness and well-being is more than enough. Perhaps what I would like is a family photo of you when you leave?
